Hello. It's a day. I have words that I will also share here that I've shared elsewhere. Then you can check out the listicles below. Some items related to politics some not. Choose your own adventure.

I’m not telling you to take a step back or log off because many of you have already done so. Many of you have refused to listen to learn and to apply and that’s why we’re where we’re at. So get over it.

My ancestors did not survive settler colonialism and chattel slavery for me to coddle people sad about the consequences of their own poor action, inaction, fear of radical material change, and ignorance.

Pay up or shut up. If you have the privilege to grieve today and not since October 7th not since 1948, not since 1898, not since 1882, not since 1876, not since 1838, not since 1776, not since 1492 you should certainly should be paying the Black, Brown, queer, disabled people who have been showing you the writing on the wall for centuries.

Get over yourself.

Look up local mask blocs, mutual aid projects, food not bombs, and support the endeavors of people you know. The millions of dollars going to politicians could've be given to support the houseless person you see on the way to work. Those millions could have given kids free school lunch, your friend with a side business some extra money for masks. Ya know? Priorities.

Some Articles I Read This Week

Every Kamala Harris Policy, Rated
The good, the bad, and the mediocre
The case for abandoning the burning house
The Gaza genocide has revealed the role of liberalism in upholding the brutality of the West. On the eve of U.S. elections, the question remains: what comes next for those wanting to build a new world?

Joshua Briond is very funny and real on instagram and an inspiration to be honest.

Uplifting The Real Cornpop who has a substack called Pop Off in the Pocket. He often has decent on takes on the TikTok and seems to be a normal dude doing his best.

Some YouTube Videos Worth watching

D’Angelo has been on YouTube for a bit. The first video I saw of them was them unpacking the Argylle movie book scam and then unpacking Doja Cat.

And recently they made another channel where they’ve been posting daily on various topics in a casual way. Not sure how long they will keep it up but it’s been fun.  I might check out some of the music they enjoyed this year. Let me know if you do too.

https://youtu.be/6Yi4I_0Yilo Bossy Bruja - "Writing is an Ancestral Practice" She has turned off embed videos for her content. I did find this inspiring. I recall a TikTok where a trans person said that marginalized people should write and create and document and show that we are cool and do things and we exist since that is being erased in various ways.

Wisecrack- The Failure of Liberal Media. I don't know how long you've been on the modern internet but Wisecrack started off entertaining the youth with Thug Notes, essentially Spark Notes for literary works explained in colloquial language. They covered a lot of philosophy and I think in more recent years have tackled larger issues and concepts. It's gotten so overwhelming they've now created a second channel to go back to their roots of analyzing film and television.

Okay, I've only consumed Agatha All Along through breakdowns and memes, but this show it honestly a net positive in the world. If you have Disney+ I do recommend it. Also if you want to tip me I can certainly explain Disney/Marvel film industry drama because it's all in my head against my will, but also not since I bear the cross of being a film bro. This is a cute podcast, they often cover marvel shows and stuff and they bring me joy when they have an episode even when I don't watch what they're discussing.

Four Books I read this year that I enjoyed( I don't have have the energy to explain why)

I read these super fast because they are great books.

Chuck Tingle, Bury Your Gays

Madeline Pendleton, I Survived Capitalism and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt

I did write a review on this and you can read that here

Adam Sass, Your Lonely Nights Are Over

Rupert Holmes, Murder Your Employer: The McMasters Guide to Homicide

I linked to Thriftbooks, but I did listen to these on audio. I've been getting my audiobooks from libro.fm which is like audible but not owned by Amazon. Additionally with your purchases you can support local bookstores. Here's a referral link https://libro.fm/referral?rf_code=lfm550753

Talk soon. Stay Strong.
