Huel Black Protein Review

I eyed this because I close friend of mine often discussed it when it came to his meals. I scoured the website as we talked on the phone and came across Huel Black Edition. This form of protein powder is advertised as "50% less carbs, 33% more protein, zero artificial sweeteners, and is naturally gluten-free And it still contains all 27 essential vitamins and minerals, essential fats, fiber, and phytonutrients.” The part I cared more about was the protein and no artificial sweeteners bit. While research has shown that there does not seem to be much of a risk to consuming artificial sweeteners, I just prefer naturally derived sugars by taste and feel. Additionally, I am a protein prophet. Many of us do not consume enough protein especially folks who are leaning plant-based or vegan. Too much of our diets consist of  simple carbs with barely any nutritional value and a ton of added sugar. While carbs are fun and sometimes filling when you make the right choices, fats and proteins are absolutely essential to life. If there is a way I can consume more protein conveniently when it is difficult to cook, I’m about it.

Each “meal” is two scoops of protein, 400 kcal, 40 grams protein.  The “meal” also includes 27 essential vitamin, and minerals, essential fats fibers, and phytonutrients.” To be honest doing a full meal is pretty thick and takes awhile to get through so I’ve tried halving it and having other food stuff with me for lunch. That works better and technically gives you double the amount of servings. I picked the banana flavor because I believed it would be interesting enough to like and not too sweet to get annoyed at. I was correct! It's such a natural banana flavor. I don’t enjoy eating the fruit, but give me a banana bread, or banana protein powder and I’m all for it. This banana protein with ingredients make the drinking experience, particularly with cold water, a comforting one.

I place “meal” in quotes because meal replacements are very loaded in a society wracked by capitalism and white supremacy. Whatever your goals are, you should prioritize eating less processed foods and learning how to cook. I view protein powders as a vital aid when it is difficult to access whole food protein sources physically or economically.

I think it is pretty good protein powder. However, it is a pricey commitment. They don’t sell in single bags. With a subscription its $84 for two pounds of protein powder so you better like the flavors you choose. Then just keep postponing the reorder date. Set that reminder!

If you are looking for something bring to lunch for work or on the go I highly recommend. If you are looking for something to have when it’s just to hard to eat solid food, I recommend.

If you want to try it click this link and you'll get $15 off your first purchase and then that'll give me $15 off my next purchase. Food is getting expensive around here: https://huel.mention-me.com/m/ol/wp6wb-d39bd5163f

Apparently you can enter my full name as a code which is a little weird but go off Huel.
