Tuesday Training Tip #1
For as long as I can remember I have preferred to perform the American Lean* on my right leg and probably related, my left leg is slightly less muscular according to a free scan I got at the gym months ago. I was already aware, but data is cool.
Muscle imbalances can contribute to body pain so it is important to check that out.
Best way to help with that is performing unilateral movements. [please go to a non google search engine and type "define: unilateral" instead of utilizing chatgpt]
When you do an exercise that works one side at a time, start with the weaker side first and repeat with same weight and reps for the stronger side. Over time, progressively overload via an increase in weight, reps, and/or sets and reintroduce some bilateral movements for power and strength if you want.
You don’t need to lift extremely heavy to live a long less painful life, but you should be telling your muscles that you need them by regularly resistance training.
I want you to survive a trip on the sidewalk or a slip down the stairs.
Take care of yourselves so I don’t have to do everything around here and only be appreciated after I’m gone.
