"Your Backpack Is So Heavy"

I always hear, "Your backpack is so heavy", and it's always someone who could, but doesn't prioritize getting stronger or more resilient. 1 + 1 = get stronger for those who can’t.

I always hear, "Your backpack is so heavy", and it's always someone who could, but doesn't prioritize getting stronger or more resilient.
1 + 1 = get stronger for those who can’t.

Land acknowledgements without LandBack before the potluck and holding space without reparations isn't enough. It never has been.

Your body, time, and money needs to be on the line. That includes prioritizing fitness.

I am not sorry to say that actually using the muscles we evolved to have and becoming intimate with their potential has many benefits akin to "touching grass".

It's Grounding. Pain-relieving. Stress Managing. Gender Affirming. Creates a Better Quality of Life. Decreases Your Fall Risk. Etc. Etc.

Some months I have more days of pain than less and yet I’m still here. Because rolling over being sedentary and sad won’t fix it and because there are so many people struggling more who need me well enough to support them.

Dreaming of a better world means dreaming of a better you.

I believe you can pick up my backpack comfortably. I believe you can help someone off the ground. I believe you can carry those groceries for a more disabled neighbor. I believe you can defend yourself and your lovers.

Busted knee? You can build the muscle in your arms to offer leverage. You can train the muscles around your knee to take pressure off the joint.

Busted shoulder? Build your thighs and create a suitable lap to be laid upon instead of lending a shoulder to cry on.

There’s so many modifications and alternatives there’s no excuse. You’re not actually helpless or lost. That’s one thing you can stop training for.

You’ve got about eighty more years of this Black Magical Negro picking up the slack for you. Times a Tickin’. Get Stronger Now.
